Highgrove Champagne Afternoon Tea Garden Tour
It is possible to purchase a champagne afternoon tea to accompany the Highgrove House Garden Tours, this makes the whole experience an even more special one. Champagne and sandwiches and tea and cakes are served in a beautiful room on the Highgrove estate next to Prince Charles’ home, a fitting way to end a very special day out. At Oak House No.1 we have entertained many guests who have also had the honour of dining with Prince Charles at Highgrove House, normally invited through their good works with His Royal Highness’ charity The Prince’s Trust. There are two types of garden tour at Highgrove, firstly a simple tour of his gardens or a more elaborate Champagne afternoon tea tour where you see the gardens first and then take afternoon tea in one of the lovely rooms next door to Prince Charles’ house. It’s hard to believe but here in Tetbury we have seen Prince Charles and Prince William driving passed Oak House No.1 in their own cars, it seems quite strange and you assume that they are on their own, but of course they oral steroids will have many other security cars close by. We remember many guests who have met Prince Charles personally at Highgrove House, the prince seeks out specialist companies to work on projects in the house and grounds, we once hosted a young couple whose business in Yorkshire was the refurbishment of Victorian greenhouses, they were the leading specialists in their field and so were employed to work at Highgrove on the failing greenhouses.
The garden tours at Highgrove come in two packages, firstly for around £25.00 you simply get the tour of Prince Charles’ gardens, the second option is the Champagne Afternoon Tea Garden Tour which is around £75.00. Either are a wonderful day out at Highgrove just a few miles away from Oak House No.1 luxury hotel in the Cotswolds.
We were so surprised a while back when one of our guests who had visited the gardens at Highgrove produced a gift to us of two Highgrove Champagne Afternoon Tea garden tours. She was so impressed and wanted to share the experience with us, how kind was that ! We had a wonderful afternoon and Prince Charles’s Highgrove House only a couple of minutes away from Oak House No.1.
The Highgrove Shop
If you don’t get a chance to visit Highgrove Gardens you can certainly visit Prince Charles’s flagship Highgrove shop here in Tetbury, just two minutes walk from our door at Oak House No.1. There you will find that perfect gift for friends and family and even some ‘Duchy’ vegetables and food products.
The garden at Oak House No.1 is tiny and quite unspectacular compared to Highgrove but it is nice and cosy and perfect for your afternoon tea in the summer.
Not all Cotswolds luxury hotels have been called ” Tetbury’s real crown jewel ” as one of our guests stated, not sure what Prince Charles would say to that !
